When I was in 2nd grade, my class spent a month or so learning about different countries. We would put up the flag of whatever country we were learning about, the teacher would briefly tell us about the country, and then we would finally eat some food that was supposedly from that county. I forgot most of what my teacher told us about Sweden, but the words that stuck in my 7-year old brain were "In Sweden, everybody eats cinnamon rolls every day." It was then I realized I was destined to live in Sweden. This claim turned out to be mostly true. I don't eat cinnamon rolls every day, but my cinnamon roll consumption has significantly increased since moving here. In several instances leading up to my fleeing of America, I was requested to make a blog detailing my travels in the eastern hemisphere. On the off chance that you are reading this and don't know the situation, here is a short briefing: -I am Jarod Smith -I recently moved to Gothenburg, Sweden from the American heartland's most picturesque metropolis: Apex, North Carolina -I am part of an government organization to spread American culture and wisdom into unsuspecting societies with the goal that these countries will eventually realize their inferiority and swear vassalship to the mighty American United Empire -I am taking a gap year to travel I've been in Sweden for about two months now. I've told some people that I would be making this blog over the summer, but it is October; the trees are turning orange, I can see my breath in the air, and I'm starting to see memes about pumpkin spice. This is how long it has taken Weebly to load. I haven't actually traveled outside of Sweden yet; my family and I have not yet found a house, and I figured that it would probably be wise to wait until I have a permanent home base to go moseying around the rest of Europe. However, I have been staying in an apartment that is very close to downtown, and I have been exploring the city from there. That being said, I'll post some of the pictures that I have taken in the last few months. Be warned, this will probably be quite a long blog post. Some cool curved apartments buildings that we might have bought an apartment in, but didn't because they were expensive That's all for now, folks.
